Original Author: Laura Hartman was most recently engaged at DePaul University. About the Author

Chris MacDonald, from Ryerson University, located in Toronto, Canada, holds the position of associate professor and directs the Ted Rogers Leadership Centre, teaching within the Rogers School of Management. He also maintains a senior fellowship at Duke University’s Kenan Institute for Ethics. His research publications span across business ethics, professional ethics, bioethics, technological ethics, and moral philosophy, and he is a co-author of the highly acclaimed textbook, The Influence of Critical Thought. He is the co-founder and co-editor of the Business Ethics Journal Review and the news and opinion compendium website Business Ethics Highlights. Well known for his esteemed blog, The Business Ethics Blog.

Laura Hartman obtained her B.S. in social psychology from Tufts University and her J.D. from the University of Chicago. She is the director of the Susilo Institute for Ethics in the Global Economy and a clinical professor of business ethics in the Department of Organizational Behavior. She also serves as an associate professor at the Kedge Business School in Marseille, France. Formerly an executive director and board chair of an elementary school in Haiti providing leadership education to underprivileged children. A laureate of the Microsoft CreateGOOD award at Cannes Lions, Professor Hartman was also recognized as one of Ethisphere’s 100 Most Influential Individuals in Business Ethics and as one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business. She is actively involved as an advisor with multiple startup companies.

Joe DesJardins currently serves as a Professor in the philosophy department jointly established by the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University in Minnesota. He is presently in the position of Executive Director of the Society for Business Ethics. His authored works include: An Overview of Business Ethics (McGraw-Hill), Environmental Ethics: An Overview of Environmental Philosophy (Wadsworth), Present-Day Concerns in Business Ethics, co-edited with John McCall, (Wadsworth), and the upcoming Business, Ethics, and Sustainability: Moral Values for the Upcoming Economic Transformation (Prentice Hall). He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame and prior to his move to Minnesota, taught at Villanova University for several years.
