About the Author
Professor Marianne Jennings is a retired professor of legal and ethical studies in business from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University (ASU). She was honored as professor of the year in the College of Business in 1981, 1987, 2000, and 2010 and received a Burlington Northern teaching excellence award in 1985. She led the Joan and David Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics at ASU from 1995 to 1999. During 2006-2007, she was the academic director for the M.B.A. Executive Program. She transitioned to emeritus status in 2015, yet she still instructs graduate courses in business ethics and ethical culture at ASU and various other institutions across the country. Additionally, she is an educator and guide for Wiley�s CPAExcel review course. Professor Jennings has penned numerous publications in scholarly, professional, and commercial periodicals. She was recognized as one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders by Trust Across America in 2010. Ethisphere magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics in 2012. Her columns have been distributed nationally, and her writings have been featured in publications like the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times, Washington Post, and Reader’s Digest. She has offered insights on business affairs on All Things Considered for National Public Radio. She has made appearances on CNBC, CBS This Morning, the Today Show, and CBS Evening News. Professor Jennings obtained her bachelor’s degree in finance and her J. D. from Brigham Young University.
