About the Author
F. Ernest Jerome earned a B.Sc. degree in Honours Physics from McMaster University, where he was the first undergraduate at the university to be a winner in the annual Canadian Association of Physicists’ Examination national competition. After completing a master’s degree in Oceanography at the University of British Columbia, he was appointed as the head of the Physics Department at Vancouver Island University (VIU) in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Professor Jerome later completed an MBA in finance from UBC, where he received the Schulich Fellowship for Entrepreneurship. Subsequently, he conducted courses in business arithmetic, corporate finance, personal financial planning, mutual funds, and securities analysis in VIU’s School of Business. He carries a Chartered Financial Planner designation and was awarded the 1987 Outstanding Achievement Award from the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning.
