Jacqueline L. Reck holds the role of associate dean overseeing financial management and academic affairs at the College of Business. She is also the James E. and C. Ellis Rooks Distinguished Professor in Accounting at the University of South Florida. Dr. Reck earned a BS degree from North Dakota State University, BS and MAcc degrees from the University of South Florida, and her PhD from the University of Missouri–Columbia. She is a certified public accountant in Florida. Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Reck served in state government for a number of years. Currently, she actively engages with several professional associations. Apart from lecturing on governmental and not-for-profit accounting, Dr. Reck contributes to the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council and often conducts continuing professional education workshops. She has led workshops on governmental and not-for-profit accounting for local accounting practices and the state auditor general’s team. Dr. Reck has been honored with numerous teaching and research accolades and has overseen or participated in multiple doctoral dissertation committees. Her articles have been featured in various publications like Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Research in Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting, Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management; and the Journal of Information Systems, among others. She joined the authoring team starting from the 14th edition.

Suzanne L. Lowensohn, currently an associate professor of Accounting at Colorado State University, holds a BS and MAcc degree from the University of South Florida and a PhD from the University of Miami. She is a Florida certified public accountant and a chartered global management accountant. Dr. Lowensohn has been involved with several reputable accounting bodies, including the Governmental Accounting Standards Board Intangible Issues Task Force and Comprehensive Implementation Guide Advisory Committee, Government Finance Officers Association Special Review Executive Committee, Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants Governmental Issues Committee, AICPA FARS Content Subcommittee, and the presidency of the Government and Nonprofit Section of the American Accounting Association. Prior to entering academia, she was at KPMG where she conducted various governmental audits. Professor Lowensohn’s works have been published in esteemed journals such as Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Research in Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting, Accounting and the Public Interest, Journal of Accounting Literature; and Behavioral Research in Accounting, among others. She joined the authoring team from the 16th edition.
