Dr Neal Cook serves as a Reader and the Associate Head of College on the College of Nursing, Ulster College and a Principal Fellow of the Increased Training Academy. Neal can also be President of the European Affiliation of Neuroscience Nurses and an Government Board Member of the British Affiliation of Neuroscience Nurses. Neal has delivered instruction on anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to undergraduate and post-graduate nursing scholars across numerous programs ever since commencing his tenure in higher education. Neal is also an Advanced Life Support Instructor, providing instruction in life support courses within Health and Social Care Trusts and at the University. He has been engaged in the realms of neurosciences and intensive care since obtaining certification as a nurse, evolving into a specialized practitioner and subsequently transitioning into the sphere of education and discovery. Neal has published scientific, investigative and educational materials in the domains of education and neurosciences and remains highly engaged in these pursuits. He is currently involved in clinical activities in neurosciences and retains registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK).
Andrea Shepherd holds the position of Lecturer in Nursing at the College of Nursing, Ulster College and a Member of the Higher Education Academy. She has been a purveyor of teachings and learnings on anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to undergraduate nursing learners through various programs ever since embarking on her career in higher education. Andrea is also qualified as an Advanced Life Support Instructor, imparting knowledge in life support courses within Health and Social Care Trusts and at the University. She has been active in the realms of intensive care and orthopaedics since attaining qualifications as a nurse, progressing into a specialized professional and later transitioning into the field of education. She presently holds a leading role in adult pre-registration nursing, is actively involved in intensive care and remains a Registered Nurse under the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK).
Professor Jennifer Boore holds the title of Emeritus Professor of Nursing at the College of Nursing, Ulster College. Jenny embarked on her profession as a registered nurse, then pursued a career as a midwife. She practiced as a nurse and midwife in the UK and Australia for several years before returning and initiating her primary degree in human biology. After assuming a role as a clinical educator with degree students, she secured a Research Fellowship at the University of Manchester and completed her Ph.D. on pre-operative preparation of patients. From 1977 to 1984, Jenny served as a Lecturer in Nursing at the Universities of Edinburgh and Hull before assuming the position of Professor of Nursing at the University of Ulster in 1984 (the first incumbent of the Professor of Nursing post in Ireland). Jenny possesses a substantial background in education, research and professional regulation. She has delivered instruction on anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to undergraduate and post-graduate nursing students through a multitude of programs throughout her professional journey. Her contributions to nursing have been acknowledged through her awards as Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing in 1993 and Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1996. Jenny remains actively engaged in nursing education and research.
