About the Author

Anthony Saunders attained his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics. He holds the John M. Schiff Professor of Finance position and was previously the head of the Finance Department at the Stern School of Business at New York University. Dr. Saunders has lectured both undergraduate and graduate-level courses at New York University since 1978. Across his academic journey, his teaching and research have been specialized in financial institutions and global banking. He has acted as a visiting professor across various locations globally, including INSEAD, the Stockholm School of Economics, and the University of Melbourne. Presently, he is part of the Executive Committee at the Salomon Center for the Study of Financial Institutions, New York University. His research has been published in all major finance and banking journals, in addition to several books. Furthermore, he has written or co-written various professional publications, the latest of which is Credit Risk Measurement: New Approaches to Value at Risk and Other Paradigms.

Marcia Millon – Cornett Robert A. and Julia E. Dorn Professor of Finance at Bentley University. She earned her BS degree in economics from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and her MBA and PhD degrees in finance from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. Cornett has authored and published numerous articles covering bank performance, bank regulation, corporate finance, and investments. Her works have been featured in renowned academic journals such as the Journal of Finance; Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking; Journal of Financial Economics; Financial Management; and Journal of Banking and Finance. She was recently ranked 124th in terms of publication output out of more than 17,600 authors and ranked as the fifth most published female author in finance literature over the last 50 years. Alongside Anthony Saunders and Otgontsetseg Erhemjamts, Dr. Cornett has recently finished collaborating on the tenth edition of Financial Institutions Management (McGraw Hill Education) and the seventh edition of Financial Markets and Institutions (McGraw Hill Education). Professor Cornett serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Services Research, Review of Financial Economics, Financial Review, and Multinational Finance Journal. Dr. Cornett has been a board member, part of the executive committee, and the finance committee of the SIU Credit Union. She has also taught at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, the University of Colorado, Boston College, and Southern Methodist University. She is a member of the Financial Management Association, the American Finance Association, and the Western Finance Association.
