Dr. Patti Rose completed her Master’s Degree (MPH) at Yale University, followed by her Doctorate (E.D.) at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has held various faculty positions (from Adjunct Professor, Instructor, to Associate Professor) at the University of Miami, Florida International University, Springfield College, Worcester State College, Nova Southeastern University, Barry University, and Florida Atlantic University. Currently, she serves as the President and Founder of her consultancy firm, Rose Consulting. Previously, she held positions as the President and CEO of Plainfield Health Center in Plainfield, NJ, and as Vice President of Behavioral Health Services at The Jessie Trice Center for Community Health, one of the largest community health centers in the nation, located in Miami, Florida. Dr. Rose is the author of several publications, including Cultural Competence for Health Administration and Public Health (2011) and Cultural Competence for the Health Professions (2013), both published by Jones and Bartlett Learning. Her most recent work, released in 2016 by the same publisher, is titled Health Disparities and Diversity: Context, Controversies, and Solutions, First Edition. During the summer of 2013, she was a Visiting Professor for Chinese university students at Jiaotong University in Shanghai, China, for six weeks. Subsequently, through the JNC Program, she conducted teaching roles during the summers of 2014, 2015, and 2016 for five weeks at Jinan University in Guangzhou, China. In the summer of 2017, also through JNC, she was a Visiting Professor and Faculty Representative at Feng Chia University in Taichung, Taiwan. Furthermore, she taught at Jinan University in Shenzhen during the summers of 2018 and at Chengdu Polytechnic University in 2019 through the JNC Program. Dr. Rose also contributed as an Educational Consultant and Liaison for the latter experience in Chengdu, playing a crucial role in shaping the international academic experience there, which included a collaboration between the JNC Program and Essex County College in New Jersey. Her language skills include proficiency in both Spanish and Mandarin, acquired through extensive travels and rigorous study and practice in both languages.
