About the Author

E. Bruce Goldstein, who was honored with the Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award at the University of Pittsburgh for his exceptional instructional methods and textbook contributions, completed his Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at Tufts University and his Doctorate in experimental psychology at Brown University. After a postdoctoral fellowship in the Biology Department at Harvard University, he joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh.
