The most hands-on, approachable, and accessible guide to the entire research process in psychology, “Understanding Quantitative and Qualitative Research” fully explores both numerical and descriptive methods, providing students with the confidence and knowledge they require. Students receive a practical guide to conducting research in psychology, starting from formulating a research query, gathering data, analyzing datasets statistically using SPSS or qualitatively with various approaches, and finally presenting and critically evaluating research findings. The significance of research ethics is highlighted, and the discussion includes the replication crisis and the open science movement throughout. Online resources offer ample opportunities for students to apply their knowledge, and the title is accompanied by a fantastic selection of video materials supporting both the descriptive and numerical sections, including SPSS screencasts for all relevant chapters, and a variety of videos on interview techniques.
