About the Author

Marianne M. Jennings, J.D., Emeritus Faculty Member of Legal and Ethical Studies, has been an educator at the WP Carey Business School, Arizona State University since 1977. She was honored as the professor of the year at the Business School in 1981, 1987, 2000, and 2010. From 1995 – 1999, she held the position of director of the Joan and David Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics at ASU. Ms. Jennings has composed six textbooks and four monographs in the realms of business ethics, ethical climate, and legal context. She led the Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics from 1995 to 1999. Ms. Jennings has collaborated with government bodies, professional associations, universities, and Fortune 100 companies on ethical instruction and environment. She contributes as an editor to the Accounting and Compliance Alert and the Real Estate Law Journal. A couple of her written works have been acknowledged as Library Journal’s titles of the year. Her publications have been translated into three different languages. The book “The Seven Signs of Ethical Collapse,” printed by St Martin’s Press, has been employed as an assessment tool and an introductory guide by numerous entities for fostering and upholding an ethical climate. In 2011, Ms. Jennings was recognized as one of the Top 100 Ideators by Trust Across America, and in 2012, she was acknowledged as one of the 100 most influential personalities in business ethics by Ethisphere magazine. Ms. Jennings was on the board of directors for Arizona Public Service (now Pinnacle West) that owned the Palo Verde Nuclear Station from 1987 to 2000. She has been a part of INPO’s advisory council since 2005. In 2015, she was appointed as an associated academic with the Center for the Exploration of Economic Freedom at Arizona State University. She conducts ethical training sessions and ethical climate evaluations for organizations, including Fortune 100 firms, government entities, professional groups, and non-profit establishments.
