   Having been educated at the Universities of York and Lancaster, I have held academic positions at the Universities of Lancaster, Kent, Keele, and recently Hull, where I served as Professor of Sociology from 2008 to 2015.

    

   I have produced more than six scholarly publications and numerous peer-reviewed papers, and have also undertaken social scientific investigations in collaboration with government agencies, charities, and corporations. I have acted as an external evaluator for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the UK, and have reviewed PhD theses in the UK and Australia in the fields of sociology, criminology, and political philosophy. I sit on the Editorial Boards of several leading journals, regularly engage with and advise academic publishers in the UK and United States, and offer editorial, advisory, and mentoring services to clients ranging from undergraduate students to tenured faculty.

   Dr. Kevin Steinmetz is a criminologist at a university in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work. He pursues various research interests, with a special focus on technocrime and governance. Additionally, Dr. Steinmetz investigates racial disparities in the criminal justice system, as well as issues related to contemporary culture, crime, and crime regulation. His work has been published in esteemed journals such as The British Journal of Criminology, Theoretical Criminology, Deviant Behavior, Race & Justice, and Social Justice, among others.
