About the Author

Vernon J. Richardson holds the esteemed position of Distinguished Professor of Accounting and the G. William Glezen Chair in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, additionally serving as a Visiting Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University. He attained his B.S., Masters of Accountancy, and MBA from Brigham Young University, and a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has imparted knowledge to students at the University of Arkansas, the University of Illinois, Brigham Young University, Aarhus University, the University of Kansas, China Europe International Business School (Shanghai), Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University, and the University of Technology Sydney.

Dr. Richardson is a distinguished member of the American Accounting Association, having assumed the presidency of the American Accounting Association Information Systems section. He has previously served as editor of The Accounting Review and presently serves as an editor of Accounting Horizons. His published works have appeared in various renowned journals such as the Accounting Review, Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Contemporary Accounting Research, MIS Quarterly, International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Operations Management, and Journal of Marketing.

 

Katie L. Terrell is a dedicated instructor at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. She completed her B.A. degrees in English Literature and the Spanish Language at the University of Central Arkansas, followed by an MBA from the University of Arkansas. She is on track to earn her doctoral degree by 2019. She has conducted teaching sessions at the University of Arkansas, Soochow University (Suzhou, China), University College Dublin (Ireland), and Duoc UC, a branch of the Catholic University of Chile (a del Mar, Chile).

As a member of the American Accounting Association, she has released a Statement on Management Accounting for the Institute of Management Accountants concerning managing organizational change in operational change initiatives. She recently received recognition for her innovative teaching methods by securing the Mark Chain/FSA Teaching Award for pioneering graduate-level accounting teaching practices in 2016. Her professional experience at Tyson Foods entailed diverse roles in Information Systems, focusing on business analysis, project management for ERP implementations and upgrades, and change management in organizations.

 

Ryan A. Teeter serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. His teaching portfolio includes accounting information systems, auditing, and accounting data analytics. Prior to obtaining his PhD in Accounting Information Systems from Rutgers University, he was associated with Google in Mountain View, California. Subsequently, he collaborated with internal audit teams at Siemens, Procter Gamble, Alcoa/Arconic, and FedEx to aid in the development of robotic process automation initiatives and data analytic solutions.

Dr. Teeter is an active member of the American Accounting Association and has contributed articles to the Journal of Strategic Technologies in Accounting and Issues in Accounting Education. He has secured grant funding for data analytics research from PwC.
