The realm of Data Analytics is reshaping the corporate landscape—data encompasses our surroundings, indicating that all accountants must cultivate analytical abilities to address the future demands of their profession. Data Analytics in Accounting, 3rd Edition, has been crafted to equip students with the essential tools and competencies required to perform data analytics successfully through a theoretical framework and practical exposure to real-world data. By utilizing the IMPACT Cycle, the authors present a conceptual framework to guide students through the necessary steps to generate insights and recommendations driven by data. Once students grasp the fundamentals of delivering data-driven insights, they are provided hands-on experience with real-world data sets and a variety of data analysis tools that will be instrumental throughout their professional journey. The data analysis tools are segmented into two streams—the Microsoft track (Excel Power Pivot and Power BI) and a Tableau track (Tableau Prep and Tableau Desktop). Employing multiple tools enables students to comprehend which tool is most suitable for the data analysis, visualization, and communication of insights acquired. Data Analytics in Accounting, 3rd Edition, stands as an all-encompassing solution for data analytics, ensuring preparedness for students’ forthcoming accounting careers.
