Dr. William A. McEachern commenced teaching extensive segments of economic theories when he joined the University of Connecticut. Soon after, he initiated conducting teaching seminars nationwide. The University of Connecticut Alumni Association honored him with its Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award in 2000. Previously, he had received the Association’s accolade for Outstanding Civic Contributions. Dr. McEachern has authored various works on government finance, public directives, and commerce, including ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERINTENDENCE AND EFFICIENCY (D.C. Heath and Company). His scholarship has been featured in compiled volumes like COMPENDIUM OF GOVERNMENTAL PREFERENCE ECONOMICS (University of Michigan Press), GLOBAL MANUAL ON EDUCATING AND ENABLING ECONOMICS (Edward Elgar Publishing), and REVISING ECONOMICAL LAWS (Irwin Publishing). He attained an undergraduate degree with distinction from the College of the Holy Cross, served for three years as a U.S. Army official, and earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Virginia.
